Biography

After growing up locally in Virginia Beach, Dr. Warren Austin received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. Dr. Austin received his medical degree in 1998 from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, Virginia. He went on to complete his internal medicine residency and a National Research Service Award Fellowship in Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. While there he also earned his Masters in Health Administration degree from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Since returning home, Dr. Austin has served as Chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine for Norfolk General and Leigh hospitals as well as Vice President of Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer for Maryview Hospital.

Dr. Austin is a member of the American Medical Association and the Society of Hospital Medicine and is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his children and long-distance running.
