CardiologyBiography

Dr. Jeffrey Brumfield is a board-certified cardiologist specializing in clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky and completed his residency in internal medicine at Greenville Hospital System in Greenville, South Carolina. After five years of practicing primary care internal medicine, he pursued fellowship training in cardiovascular diseases at both the University of Cincinnati and East Carolina University. He further specialized with a fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.
Dr. Brumfield focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, bradycardia, and other complex arrhythmias. He performs advanced electrophysiologic procedures, including radiofrequency and pulse field catheter ablation, pacemaker and defibrillator implantation (including leadless and biventricular devices), and laser lead extractions. He also specializes in left atrial appendage occlusion device implantation, a procedure that can potentially allow certain patients with atrial fibrillation to discontinue anticoagulant therapy.
In his clinical practice, Dr. Brumfield is known for providing thoughtful, compassionate, and expert care. He places a strong emphasis on patient education, ensuring that individuals understand their conditions and all available diagnostic and treatment options. His commitment to lifelong learning and procedural excellence allows him to offer the most up-to-date care for patients with, or at risk for, cardiac arrhythmias.
Dr. Brumfield is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in both cardiovascular diseases and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), the American College of Cardiology (FACC), and the Heart Rhythm Society (FHRS).
