Biography

Shannon Thain is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background in critical care, public health, and functional medicine. She earned her undergraduate degrees in Biology and Chemistry from Old Dominion University (ODU) before returning to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011 and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2018 — graduating magna cum laude for all degrees.

Shannon is an active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners.

Outside of her professional life, Shannon enjoys spending time with her husband, Charles, and their twin sons. She is passionate about the outdoors and loves running, cycling, swimming, growing her own food, and cooking healthy meals.
