Biography

Dr. Akachi Awuruonye completed her dermatology residency at Old Dominion University–Eastern Virginia Medical School. She earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, following a Master of Biomedical Sciences.

Her clinical interests span medical and surgical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and advancing access to quality skin care in underserved and rural communities.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Awuruonye enjoys traveling, taking on DIY projects, and spending time with her family.
