Biography

Joanna Hardy is a Physician Assistant who recently graduated from the Eastern Virginia Medical School PA program. Originally from Northern Virginia, just outside of Washington DC, she developed an interest in healthcare during high school while taking physical therapy courses. This early exposure sparked a passion for medicine and helping others that ultimately guided her career path. 

She attended George Mason University where she earned a degree in Kinesiology. While studying human movement and rehabilitation, she discovered the Physician Assistant profession and was drawn to the opportunity to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide variety of medical conditions while building meaningful relationships with patients. 

Prior to studying to be a Physician Assistant, she worked as a medical scribe in dermatology, where she gained valuable clinical experience and developed a strong appreciation for dermatologic medicine. During training at EVMS, she further cultivated her interest in dermatology while also developing a passion for caring for patients across a broad range of medical specialties. 

Outside of medicine, she enjoys reading, staying active in the gym, hiking, baking sourdough bread and other homemade treats, and spending time with her cat Ziggy and fiancé, who is also a Physician Assistant. They are currently building a house in Suffolk, VA and are excited to establish roots in the Hampton Roads community and look forward to serving patients and partnering with them to achieve their healthcare goals.
