Biography

Dr. Mary Wood brings 15 years of experience in patient care and advanced medicine. A native of southern Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans, she earned her undergraduate degree in Marine Biology from Nicholls State University before pursuing her medical degree at the University of St. Eustatius School of Medicine. She went on to complete her residency at St. Louis University Hospital, followed by fellowship training at St. John’s Mercy in St. Louis. She is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Critical Care, and Neurocritical Care, making her uniquely equipped to care for patients with complex needs. 

Outside of medicine, Dr. Wood describes herself as a “wannabe beach bum.” She enjoys fishing, crabbing, gardening, and just about any outdoor activity—especially those on the water. She’s also an avid Blackjack player and animal lover, and she stays busy as a proud mom of two teenage boys. After settling into her new community, she looks forward to volunteering at the local aquarium.
