Dr. Michael P. Stolz grew up in Chesapeake, Virginia. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He went on to complete his general surgery residency at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
Following residency, Dr. Stolz pursued advanced training in a Robotic Minimally Invasive General Surgery Fellowship at Hackensack University Medical Center in Hackensack, New Jersey. There, he gained specialized expertise in robotic approaches to complex abdominal wall reconstruction, anti-reflux and foregut surgery, colorectal surgery, and biliary surgery.
Board certified in general surgery, Dr. Stolz is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, American Hernia Society, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons, and the International Society for Fluorescence Guided Surgery. He has authored six publications, which have been cited 20 times in recent medical literature, and has presented his research at both regional and national scientific meetings.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Stolz enjoys spending time with his wife and their Corgi, as well as duck hunting, fishing, skiing, and visiting the Bay.
