Biography

Born and raised in Paraguay, South America, N. Daniel Santacruz, MD, graduated with his medical degree from the National University of Asuncion. He went on to complete both his internal medicine residency and nephrology fellowship from Eastern Virginia Medical School after a year training in general pathology at St. Vincent Hospital and Medical Center in New York City. He has experience in both private practice and hospital medicine serving on medical staff at DePaul Bon Secours Medical Center, Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, and Chesapeake Regional Medical Center. He has chaired several departments during his tenure and was active for five years as a physician liaison for Optima Health insurance. His professional interests include diabetes, hypertension, and kidney diseases.

Dr. Santacruz is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, American Medical Association, and Virginia Medical Society. He is board certified in internal medicine and nephrology.

In his free time, Dr. Santacruz enjoys jogging, fishing, reading, and spending time with his wife of 42 years.
