Biography

Shekhar Patil, MD, MPH, received his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from B.J. Medical College and Sassoon General Hospitals in Pune, India. He then completed his Master of Public Health (MPH) degree in epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston, Texas. From here, Dr. Patil completed two research Postdoctoral Fellowships from MD Anderson Cancer Center and McGovern Medical School, UT Health, Houston, Texas. After that Dr. Patil completed his internal medicine residency at Saint Vincent Hospital program in Worcester, Massachusetts. His clinical interests include sepsis, pulmonary embolism, infectious disease such as COVID-19 and lung cancer. He is working on bringing innovation in Hospital Medicine to improve the quality of patient care along with provider and patient satisfaction.

Dr. Patil is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and is a member of the American College of Physician (ACP), American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the American Thoracic Society, the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST), and the American Medical Association (AMA). In his free time, he enjoys riding motorcycles, playing lawn tennis, skiing, taking adventurous trips, reading books, and watching movies.
